DUNFERMLINE 2 LIVINGSTON 0 Date: 04/02/03

Fixture: Tennent`s Scottish Cup

Attendance: 3155, Kick Off: 19:45

Referee: Alan Freeland, Weather: Dry & Cold 1ºC

The prize of a home tie against Bobby Williamson`s Hibs on 22nd February awaited the side that could successfully negotiate this Tennent`s Scottish Cup Third Round Replay. For most baring the freezing cold conditions of East End Park proved a poor alternative to watching the live BSkyB transmission.

The Pars new signings Noel Hunt and Ged Brannan dropped out of the squad which lost to Hearts on Saturday as they were ineligible so Gary Dempsey and Sean Kilgannon started. Scott Walker also made way for way for the inclusion of Chris McGroarty on the bench.

The visitors kicked off towards the McCathie Stand in what was the fifth meeting between these two teams this season. The Pars were the first to penetrate the opposition penalty area as Jason Dair`s through ball came back off the heel of Stevie Crawford allowing Gustave Bahoken to clear.

Craig Brewster worried the Livi defence as he flicked the ball over them into the path of Crawford but again Bahoken came to the rescue getting the ball back to McEwan. The same player easily dealt woth Brewster`s 16th minute cross for Hampshire.

The best chance of the first half was created by Dair in the 19th minute. Accepting the ball on the left from Andrius Skerla Dair ran towards goal and played the ball off Brewster in the penalty box. The lay back was hit well by Jason`s right foot from the edge of the box but the ball hit the net support behind the right goalpost.

Rolando Zarate sent Wilson down the right wing three minutes later. When he sent the cross over Zarate`s shot was blocked and Stuart Lovell despatched the ball over the crossbar. After winning the ball off Dair, Francisco Quino supplied Zarate with a chance to twist his way through the central defence and fire in a shot that Derek Stillie turned around his right hand post.
